Hello everyone,
After many issues with kitchen studios (missed appointments, no further contact, outrageous prices, etc.), I have now decided to go with IKEA for my kitchen.
Today, a technician came with his advanced laser measuring device and measured the kitchen for me (unfortunately, it’s relatively small at about 4m² (43 sq ft) and quite awkwardly shaped).
I already have a rough sketch in mind of how I want it to look, but I still have to wait for the exact measurements for more detailed planning.
In short: an L-shaped layout with a compact oven and a 45cm (18 inch) dishwasher. This is where my actual questions begin.
My problem is that I don’t necessarily want to use IKEA appliances—I would prefer to go with Siemens or Miele, as I have relatively easy access to these brands through work. However, a friend who recently assembled an IKEA kitchen himself told me that there might be significant issues when installing dishwashers/ovens that are not IKEA brand.
The IKEA cabinets are apparently somewhat non-standard, and especially with his Siemens dishwasher, he ran into quite major problems fitting it, and now he can’t cover it with cabinet panels as intended.
Does anyone have experience with compact ovens (preferably a combination steam oven and regular oven) or 45cm (18 inch) dishwashers that fit well with IKEA cabinets? Ideally from Siemens or Bosch 🙂
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,

MuenchnerKindl23 Aug 2016 08:24Thank you very much, I will take a closer look at the model!
There are no alternatives to it (so if necessary, other manufacturers?)

robi_aus_ffm23 Aug 2016 09:02hello münchnerkindl 🙂
you mentioned you have limited space, but...
can you squeeze out an extra 15cm (6 inches) anywhere?
with the 60cm (24 inches) units, you have many more options and can fit a lot more inside.
we also considered a 45cm (18 inches) unit but decided against it due to a lack of suitable fronts and insufficient interior space.
if you share a plan, we can help with some ideas 🙂

MuenchnerKindl23 Aug 2016 11:53I’m afraid we’ll have to stick with the 45cm (17.7 inches) dishwasher after all 🙁.
I’ll be happy to provide the plans as soon as I have them. How does the process actually work? Does IKEA contact me once the measurement data is available, or do I have to go there on a guess?

MuenchnerKindl25 Aug 2016 13:48Will I receive an email once the measurement data is available at IKEA, or do I have to go there on a guess?
I gave up after 15 minutes on the hotline when they said, "there are still more than 30 ahead.." 🙂

IKEA-Profi25 Aug 2016 20:33Once IKEA has received the measurement data, will I get an email, or do I have to just show up on a whim?
I gave up after 15 minutes on the hotline with "there are more than 30 ahead of you" 🙂 When was your appointment?
It can take 3–5 days. You should normally receive the documents as well!
