Hello everyone,

In my house, which is currently under construction, there are small cracks visible on the roof beams.
I have attached photos of them.

Are these cracks serious, and should anything be done about them? Or are they harmless and normal?

Regards,
Jens

Since you are an electrical engineer, this question is forgiven, as your profession is quite far from wood. Just so you know: normal, no worries, be happy.

It is best not to enter the house anymore, and if necessary, only with a helmet and face shield!

Safety comes first!!!

PS: Solid wood always has a few cracks. There are design tables for this in timber construction. Your little crack is nowhere near critical.

My garden has developed bare cracks. Hopefully, I don’t fall into one.
