Hello everyone,

we are building on a slight slope and I would appreciate if someone could estimate the additional costs involved. The ground conditions are excellent.

Thank you.

The question is quite universally posed. What size is being built, with or without a basement, compared to what...
I’ll take a wild guess and say 3.14.

The question is as vague as "How much does a vehicle cost?"

- Disposal fees vary at each landfill
- Every excavation movement incurs costs
- Shoring costs apply whether you are digging down or filling up

Get in touch with 2 or 3 construction companies in your area, explain your plans, and have them provide you with an estimate

A standard single-family house without a basement will be built, approximately 170 square meters (1,830 square feet).

Additional costs due to the slope can arise from, for example:
- Loading and storing excess excavated soil for both the building structure and terrain landscaping
- Sealing the basement against rising groundwater or more complex solutions
- Retaining walls, exterior stairs, etc.
- Lifting systems depending on conditions

Is there a site cross-section showing the house already drawn in? Is there a soil report? Do you need to haul away, add fill, or store the excavated material on site?
