We are planning to install a sliding door with an 86cm (34-inch) door panel that runs inside the wall.

The plan is to create a door opening of about 1.8m (6 feet). One half will then be closed off again so that the door panel can slide into it.

Does anyone have experience with the Knauf Pocket Kit or Wingburg Cavis ready-made systems?
I can only find information for complete drywall partitions and am not entirely sure what exact dimensions our opening needs to have.

I solved it the same way. The wall opening is twice as wide as the door openings, plus a bit of extra space. Be careful with the lintel of the wall opening—it needs to be higher than the standard door height. The track and carriage must fit underneath; otherwise, the door panel will have to be shortened. Prefabricated systems are probably convenient—I also considered them—but a simple track works just as well.

After hanging the door panels, I closed the wall again on both sides using 50mm (2 inch) drywall profiles. My wall was 17.5cm (7 inches) thick (20cm (8 inches) including plaster), which was a perfect fit (2 x 7.5cm (3 inch) drywall walls plus a 5cm (2 inch) gap for the doors).

That sounds like the more cost-effective solution.

What kind of running track did you use?
Do you also have a floor guide?

The track and trolley were included with the doors. Otherwise, just google "sliding door hardware," as the selection is almost unlimited.
I also installed a floor guide; it’s just a small peg that will later be concealed by the door frame.

What have been your experiences so far with airtightness (against sound and, if applicable, moisture in wet rooms)?
