Hello everyone,
I could use a bit of help with our sliding door issue.
The contract specified a wooden sliding door recessed into the wall – floor-to-ceiling height, track profile mounted in the ceiling without a floor guide.
So far, so good... but the topic was somewhat overlooked and nearly forgotten, which means the profile now has to be screwed into the ceiling... okay so far.
Unfortunately, the frame around the door is far from ideal, and the construction quality isn’t great either. The Fino model might still be acceptable...
However, we are now looking for alternatives for doors without aluminum frames, with minimal ceiling tracks, and similar features.
Does anyone have a link or a tip, or has anyone ordered or built something like suitable sliding doors with low-profile track systems?
(Since we are possibly considering switching to glass doors, suggestions for those are welcome as well.)
Room height (finished floor to finished ceiling) 2.765 m (9 ft 1 in)
Door width 1.05 m (41 in)
Wall thickness 1.23 m (48 in)
Parquet flooring
Many thanks in advance and have a great weekend

If it can’t be integrated into the ceiling or wall, aluminum is the slimmest option you can find. Wood is bulkier. Aluminum is more expensive.
How the door itself is designed is actually (almost) irrelevant.
Does it have to be sliding? We separated the hallway from the living area with a floor-to-ceiling glass door with a sidelight. Acoustically, it works well. Timber frame construction, about 3,000 EUR. Aluminum would have been another 2,000 EUR more expensive.

We had a similar situation. Originally, a pocket wall with a sliding door. Fortunately, we changed our mind.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a good photo, only one taken right after installation was completed.
For us, the opening is 240cm (94 inches) wide and the clear room height is about 265cm (104 inches).
