Hello everyone,
We are currently considering whether to install a Velux window directly in the bedroom. The model is GGU S06, made of plastic, with dimensions of 114 x 118 cm (45 x 46 inches).
The cost for this would be 1400€.
The roof window would face north/northwest.
There is a floor-to-ceiling window in the room facing west/southwest.

However, you should make sure to properly shade the roof window in summer to prevent heat from accumulating inside the room. ypg schrieb:
I even find the sound cozy I feel the same way—finding "raindrops tapping on my window" cozy. From my experience working for a provider of conservatories and roof windows, I know that every square meter of angled glass creates a greenhouse effect if it’s not combined with proper shading. Personally, I think about this economically and only install roof windows where facade windows don’t provide enough natural light. Exceptions are made for spectacular views.

We also have roof windows and find them attractive; they brighten the room very well. The noise does not bother us at all; as others have described, it is rather relaxing.
However, exterior blinds should be considered in the planning. We do not have them yet, and the room or house heats up a lot because of it.
