Hello everyone,
has anyone here used SketchUp Free recently?
When I click on a download link, I don’t get a download; instead, I am taken directly to their site where I only have access to a limited online version.
For example, there are no pull-down menus, and I can’t add the project location via Google Maps, as is widely described (including in an article from 2019).
I also can’t change lengths as shown in tutorials. Using "number;number Enter" doesn’t work.
Can anyone tell me why this might be? Or is there another program where you can add the real location?
Best regards – Vetti

I searched two weeks ago as well and couldn’t find anything. You can install the Pro version, which comes with a 30-day trial, or use an older version by searching for “sketchup free 2017” on Google. I switched to the web app and am quite satisfied with it. The only downside is the poor hardware acceleration, which causes significant lag with more complex models.
Edit: You can create your model with the Pro trial version and upload it to the cloud via Trimble Connect. Then you can load the cloud file in the web app and continue working on it in the free version.
