Hello everyone,
I’m not building a house, but since I couldn’t find a better forum, I hope you can still help me.
Here’s the situation in the kitchen:
- I replaced the sink and the trap
- Since then, the water drains very slowly (a full basin takes 2-3 hours to empty)
- If water is poured directly into the wall drain, it drains normally
- If the trap is not connected to the wall but drains into a bucket, the water also drains normally
- Before the renovation, everything worked perfectly
What am I overlooking?
Thank you very much for your help!

That would be my first layperson’s thought to check.

To clarify the situation:
After switching from Ikea to a standard system, the problem still persisted. However, it became much easier to experiment because it was simply more expandable.
And lo and behold – with a drain pipe featuring an integrated air admittance valve (12€), the water drains faster (from a full basin) than you can count to five.
I don’t have an explanation for this, since the old trap didn’t have an air admittance valve, but the logic behind it no longer matters to me. The main thing is that the wastewater is flowing again.
