In our old kitchen, we have the eccentric control. It works quite well. How does a manual control work? Which one would you recommend? Best regards, Steffi33

Eccentric, because when operating it by hand, you have to reach into the water. Or not?

I wouldn’t find that too bad.. I also wash dishes by hand.. 😉

Manual operation, because with an eccentric handle there is a protruding knob that can be in the way when turned off and collects dirt.

The function is quite simple: press the dirt strainer down --> closed. Slightly lift the strainer up again --> drain open.

I have experience with both and personally prefer the eccentric, although your points are certainly valid :P.

The first thing to break in a kitchen after x years (x = any number between 1 and 20) is the eccentric cam. It’s not very expensive to repair, but it can be annoying (or sometimes no longer available).
