Hello dear forum community,
it seems there are quite a few building novices, construction experts, or those aspiring to become experts here. We currently belong to the last group, aiming to become more experienced. We are a young family with one child so far but plan to have a second child in the near future.
Therefore, we would like to present our design to you, hoping it can be thoroughly reviewed.
First: This drawing is the initial draft, which we can still change and for which we already have some ideas for adjustments.
Regarding this:
1) The children’s room on the ground floor is intended to become the master bedroom.
2) The master bedroom will accordingly become the children’s room.
3) The shower should be moved upstairs, the bathtub downstairs, making the bathroom slightly larger, with a window, located along the right side of the house extending to the lower exterior wall.
4) The utility room should be roughly halved, remaining in the center, possibly integrating the small storage room.
These are our ideas so far. What do you think?

Bauexperte2 Aug 2015 10:22Hello Tox,
everything looks very good! It’s a pity that the golden ball didn’t cooperate on the day of the shoot
Of course, I’m interested in the cost aspect. Has your architect’s cost estimate remained the same?
Regards, Bauexperte

OT: Construction expert... may I ask what the "l" in "natürlich" is about? I stumble over it every time and catch myself pronouncing it out loud.

I can’t really pinpoint the exact time – but it started when our daughter was around 2 to 2.5 years old, trying to speak. I thought it was so funny that I kept repeating it, and then it just stuck. It’s so ingrained that I automatically not only say it but also “half write” it. Another cute mispronunciation from our little one.
I almost expect that “Bibelwurst” (Bible sausage) will come next; my granddaughter simply can’t get “Zwiebelwurst” (onion sausage) out without stumbling.
Best regards, Bauexperte

toxicmolotof2 Aug 2015 12:37I just wanted to review who was at what stage regarding the costs, but somehow... never mind.
So, the "all in" total is now at 290,000 euros, with paving work still to come that we are budgeting at 5,000 euros. Thanks to a lot of help and expertise from two road construction workers we know, that should work out.
Of course, many small details are still missing, but overall it’s almost finished.
Those 295,000 euros also include all extras (2 floor-to-ceiling showers, hexagonal bathtub, towel radiator, complete tiling on the ground floor, electric roller shutters, natural stone window sills inside/outside, colored window frames, electrically operated sectional garage doors, network with 22 ports, 7 TV outlets with multi-feed, etc.)
If we had strictly followed the architect’s plan and offers without adding any extras, it would have easily been 35,000 euros cheaper. The bathroom, tiles, and window sills alone accounted for 25,000 euros in extras.
The table is there as a resting place for curious cats. The access path for it is still missing but will be added.
A photo of the bedroom can be provided but still needs to be taken first.
