Hello everyone,

Last August, we had our newly built house tiled. The tile installer also applied the silicone sealant.

We had agreed that he would use our materials (he specified the type of sealant, and we bought it). Now we are noticing that there are many areas where the silicone sealant has come off. Is this a valid reason to make a complaint, or are we just unlucky because he used our materials? It seems to be related to the settling of the screed.

Thanks for the advice

Well, what can the tiler do about the settling of the house/the screed? That is exactly why silicone joints are installed—to prevent major damage from occurring right away. These act as intentional weak points.

Yes, that is normal. In our case, the company comes back for 5 years and repeatedly repairs all silicone joints.
