Hi,
is there a supplier that offers doors for garages or side entrance doors as sliding doors? I know there are disadvantages regarding tightness, etc. However, structurally, it is probably not possible otherwise. The whole thing is intended as an access to a garage.
I have already searched but only found sliding doors for interior use. I would be surprised if there is really nothing suitable available...
Regards
Chris

Are sliding doors available for this?

Structurally, it’s probably not possible any other way. You think so? What’s the situation exactly? New build or retrofit of an older building?
Show some plans.

Must meet fire resistance rating T30. That’s no problem for commercial sliding doors.

Show some plans. There are no plans... (which is probably the problem :confused 🙂
We moved the door in the garage. Where the new door is supposed to be (the plan was for the door to open outward) there is now a passage/ramp with a slope. There isn’t enough clearance to open the door outward without it scraping on the floor covering...
Opening inward is also difficult because of the sliding track for the garage door and would just be impractical anyway.
That’s why we’re considering a sliding door... I have enough space on the inside wall.
The garage is detached, meaning it has no direct connection to the house!
