Last night, I woke up to an unfamiliar noise.
The shower toilet had activated its wash function even though no one was sitting on it... in the middle of the night... hours after the last use.
If I hadn’t noticed it by chance (the door between the bathroom and bedroom was open), we would now have water damage. Fortunately, only the opposite wall was affected and the carpet got wet, but the operation stopped after a few minutes.
It is an AXENT.ONE model, which seemed to me the best of all the ones we looked at.
I have contacted the manufacturer and am awaiting their response.
My "feeling" is that from now on I can’t leave the house without turning off the circuit breaker for the toilet.
Even if I always keep the lid closed, water could leak through the gap – not to mention that water is quite expensive here in Northern Hesse.

I wouldn’t want to be without the function itself. From my perspective, cleaning with water is the only sensible option... but THIS.

I just had to tell someone...
What can I do now? … no idea...

Hello,

have you already contacted the local ghost hunter?

Otherwise, I would suggest having a conversation with the manufacturer.

No idea how a toilet "flushes" automatically, but I would first check the sensor/remote control to see if there is any dirt or if the button/switch is stuck.

As mentioned:
I contacted the manufacturer, and the "problem" only occurred hours after the last use. Nothing can be "stuck" — and even if it were, you wouldn’t notice it — so it could happen repeatedly.

I would like an explanation for — and assurance against — further incidents involving moisture, and for example, I would expect a response like this:

Dear Customer,
the problem has occurred multiple times. We apologize for this and have corrected the electronics, which we are sending to you as a replacement part. You may have it installed by any technician of your choice at our expense.
We hereby guarantee that this will never happen again.
Sincerely, Axent

Well... let’s see what happens.

With a few hours in between, it’s also “strange” ... a toilet that spontaneously misbehaves.

This fits with an observation I made a few years ago while searching for Bluetooth devices in my apartment.
There was a device on the list that I couldn’t explain until I discovered that it was my toilet.
The device can — in a different version* — be equipped with a remote control — (*which I chose not to get because I didn’t want to depend on a charged battery while using the toilet...)

Oh wow, the smart home is turning against its occupants... Bluetooth in the toilet... crazy. I would lose trust as well.

There are water sensors that can trigger an alarm if moisture is detected. Is it possible to install them temporarily in a useful way? Or do they only alarm when there is a significant water level in the bathroom? While that wouldn’t solve the problem, it might help you sleep better if the manufacturer downplays the issue.

I’m not really convinced that the electronics were faulty. I believe it was triggered by something.
Maybe the cat was trying to climb onto the rotary knob, maybe the app was open and someone accidentally operated it, or perhaps the neighbor just connected a Bluetooth device and you happened to confirm it by pressing the rotary knob.

Sometimes these things just happen.
In our living room, a light connected to a switched socket would occasionally turn off. Eventually, I realized that my garage door opener was the culprit.
