ᐅ Should the rigid vinyl flooring in the kitchen be installed continuously throughout the house or not?

We are about to install the flooring in our new building. We will be laying Parador Modular One Click vinyl (design flooring) throughout the entire ground floor (except for the entrance area and guest bathroom).

Parador recommends placing the kitchen directly on the screed and then installing the flooring afterwards around the kitchen base, due to the weight and the underfloor heating.

The question is whether this is just a precaution or a serious issue? Ideally, we would like to install the flooring continuously.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Thanks first for your answers. I am also considering whether it would be possible to lay the vinyl flooring first and then place something under the kitchen feet to prevent the feet from pressing directly on the vinyl. In my opinion, this would distribute the load better.

Hello, how did you end up doing it? We are also facing the decision of whether to install Parador Modular One under the kitchen (a U-shaped kitchen, basically with an island) first, or to install the kitchen cabinets first and then lay the design floor.
Good luck

From my experience:
We also only "laid" our click vinyl flooring because the manufacturer required it that way. The topic here is “floating installation.” The heavy kitchen units would create a point load, which could cause edges to form at the joints (as some have mentioned here).

That is less of an issue. The real problem is that vinyl is not dimensionally stable, especially when exposed to sunlight. If it is rigid vinyl, which is much more dimensionally stable, I would have no concerns about installing it fully glued down in this case.

Vinyl is nothing more than a PVC flooring, just with a fancier name... In my opinion, it is not the best choice for a kitchen. There are also affordable and attractive tiles. Time-tested and lasts forever.

Well, there are some differences...
Click vinyl is definitely suitable for kitchens, and I would rather install click vinyl in my open-plan kitchen than tiles.
