ᐅ Stick or drill for installing a pleated blind? Which method holds better without significant drawbacks?

Hello,

we still need a few pleated blinds for our ground floor, so we’re wondering how reliable the current adhesive methods are. Or is it still the case that screws are the only long-lasting option to prevent the blinds from falling down during the summer? After all, the holes for the screws aren’t that big, right? Or could there possibly be a concern about moisture or something similar?

Thanks for your information and suggestions.

We have had pleated blinds installed for years by drilling into the glazing bead. There has been no water issue. The bead is also easy to replace.

If drilling, then through the glazing bead, because it can be replaced.

In our own home, we also only clamped; this works perfectly and is completely reversible.

If, due to the window conditions (depth of the glazing bead), you were to drill into the window, which area would you prefer:
1) the glazing bead itself or deeper
2) the frame
Whatever is meant by "or deeper": I would use hooks glued onto the frame with "Power Strips." The hooks in my bathroom are glued (at least since the previous tenant, so for more than ten years).

Yes, logically not deeper into the window itself, but standing in front of the window "deeper" / below the glazing bead 😉

I see. So you mean the top glazing bead, not the side ones – so this concerns covering the entire view. For privacy protection, half-height would be sufficient for me.

No, I meant top and bottom. After all, I can only really extend the pleated blind about two-thirds of the way up anyway 😀
