Hello everyone,

A 6 cm (2.4 inches) cement screed was laid in my garage 6 days ago and covered with a plastic sheet. The garage is locked at the doors, and the yet-to-be-delivered gate is covered with a tarp. Air can circulate around the perimeter through the still open roof box ventilation. The screed installer said that the longer the plastic stays on, the harder the floor will become – 14 days would be ideal.

After the screed has set nicely under the plastic sheet over the past few days and there was some moisture on the underside of the sheet, this moisture has now disappeared. Should I moisten or spray the screed again and then cover it back up?

Best regards

After the screed has properly set under the plastic sheet over the past few days and the underside of the sheet showed slight moisture, this moisture is now gone. Should I water or dampen the screed afterwards and then cover it again?

A very clear answer: NO – and please avoid any trade or task whose background and effects of your own actions you do not understand.
Sorry for being so direct.
