Hello everyone,
we have plastered a total of 120 sqm (1,292 sq ft) of walls and now need to sand them (or have them sanded).
I could rent a Festool sander with dust extraction for 50 euros per day. How long would a reasonably skilled beginner need for this area? A company has offered me a price of 2,000 euros. That seems quite high to me.
I would appreciate your assessment.
Best regards,
Ralle

But please avoid Knauf; it’s better to use products like Hearing, Alpenkalk, or similar.
These are easier to work with and create a nicer finish on the wall. However, painting is still necessary afterward. For example, I have used Haering Elf fine quite a lot. It results in a surface that looks quite different from a painted one.

I would get an affordable drywall sander for around 100€, a Starmix ipulse vacuum for 550€, and a pack of good sanding mesh, and do the whole job yourself over one weekend. In my opinion, even with little experience and a final fine skim coat, this works quite well. You can resell the sander afterwards, and you’ll need the vacuum during your renovation anyway.
