ᐅ Protecting MDF Fronts with Clear Varnish?

Hello.

I am currently in the process of replacing my Stat fronts as part of the option to purchase additional items.

Now, regarding durability, I thought about applying a clear coat to the fronts before installation to provide some protection.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it a good idea?

Hello, no experience, just a few thoughts. If the paint is not sprayed on, it can quickly look unattractive, and with STAT the paint might collect in the grooves. If the paints are not compatible with each other, you might as well throw everything away. Painting will void the warranty. Thick layers of paint sometimes chip off more easily from impacts than thin layers.
