ᐅ Should I choose an acrylic bathtub or a steel enamel bathtub?

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking into bathtubs. I have read a lot of great things about acrylic tubs in terms of warmth, durability, variety of shapes, and other advantages. 🙄 Steel enamel tubs are apparently more durable but noticeably “colder” and “harder.” Could you share your experiences? What did you choose to install?

Best regards

Thank you all very much for your tips. I'll keep the lemon juice idea in mind. Sounds good. Let’s see if it will be a freestanding bathtub. Personally, I think those are really amazing. They make quite an impact visually. And there are also the wildest shapes available. :o

Exactly, and I also like freestanding bathtubs—we have one shaped like a cluster of grapes. It always depends on how much space is available.

I have another question: some acquaintances and friends say that their acrylic bathtub makes noises, like creaking, when getting in and out. 😕 Is it installed incorrectly, causing too much flexing, or what could be the reason for this?

Hmm... hard to say: as far as I know, it shouldn’t creak or make any other noises. It’s possible that the substructure wasn’t installed properly and the tubs might have "too much play." But maybe someone here knows better.

I also don’t hear any noises or creaking. Most likely, the bathtub was installed incorrectly. I have a sanitary acrylic bathtub , and especially in winter, I find it pleasantly warm.
