ᐅ Short TV Wall – Design Ideas

Hello everyone,

Our combined living, cooking, and dining area is unfortunately not very large (33 m² (355 sq ft)) and probably not ideally laid out either. What we regret most, however, is our short TV wall.

Construction site room: Metal profiles lying on the floor, open glass door leads to scaffolding outside.

Do you have any ideas on how we could design this? I was thinking of adding a room divider next to the wall, but I’m not sure how or what, since there are also switches for the blinds and power outlets on that wall that I can’t block.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Best regards

The door appears to be double-leaf (in the photo, not in the plan), so if possible, I would avoid placing the sofa there.

Exactly, the door has two leaves.

I would have a full-height stud wall built about 80 cm (31.5 inches) away from the short wall and create a bookshelf in the space between.
Like this, but with just one shelf. That would help solve the problem. If designed cleverly, you could still access the switches.

When I think about it... but that's not necessarily a deal-breaker. Of course, this means I can only open the other door partially.

That’s also a creative idea, thank you for your input.

I wouldn’t extend the wall since the room is already quite small.
Maybe you could, as shown in the picture, install a ceiling-mounted TV lift. Of course, this involves additional costs, but the TV would only be in the way when you are sitting on the couch anyway, and it could be slightly larger than the wall.
