ᐅ Furnishing a Large Living Room. What are your tips?

Hello,

maybe I can get some tips here on how to make a large living room cozy?
It measures 6 by 5 meters (20 by 16 feet), so it has a fairly square layout.
There is only a window wall along one side, and on the opposite side there is a door, but rather towards the corner.
A dining area is not an option because there is a separate dining room.
At first, I thought about a reading corner, but if someone watches TV at the same time, it bothers me.
Do you have any ideas?

Best regards, Gerda

Hello,
I really like large rooms because everyone can find their own space. For me, it is important that the living comfort is maintained. In such rooms, I can also accommodate large furniture. I also appreciate small, individual living areas. This could be a reading nook or just a couch for relaxing.

Best regards

We divided our living room into different areas using room dividers. You can also do this with plants, sideboards, etc. There is a reading and play corner for the children, a wooden table for relaxing with a nice view, either with guests or alone with a laptop, a TV corner with a large sofa, and many books that give the living space a cozy atmosphere. Curtains and rugs are also highly recommended for large rooms, as they add warmth.

Hi Naura,

We also need to plan the living room layout. At first, we wanted to create a new room, but we've decided against it. I like your room arrangement and I am considering something similar.

Now I just have to convince my husband and my daughter. 😎 😎

I am currently in the process of redecorating our living room. I have already read some suggestions here. It is important to me to have both a TV area and a reading corner. Often, one person wants to watch TV while the other prefers to read. I also like the idea of separating these spaces with room dividers.

I would place a huge lounge sofa to take up some space right away 😉 Otherwise, I would put up a room divider in the form of a large bookshelf and then position an ottoman in front of it, all surrounded by beautiful plants.

We have clearly defined our large living area as well. We placed a bookshelf as a room divider. The advantage is that it can be accessed from both sides. On one side, there is a cozy corner, and on the other side, desks and the sound system.

Of course, music is listened to with headphones.
