ᐅ Senso cast floor – Does anyone have experience with it?

Hello everyone,
we are considering using the cast flooring from Senso. We really like the look and feel of the floor. However, we are interested in everyday experiences, especially regarding its sensitivity.

Additionally, we want to have the bathrooms, including the walls, done by Senso. If anyone has this: Is it really as low-maintenance as promised? Have there been any issues with waterproofing?

Thank you very much!

Hello, we have been living with a Senso floor since last December. On the ground floor, we have Bcrete (to make the floor a bit "harder" there) and on the upper floor, where the kids’ rooms are, the Fusion as a "softer" option.

I can’t say much about the durability yet...

For us, it was important that the floor feels good for sitting, lying down, and walking barefoot, that it can be installed seamlessly across the whole floor (including in the showers, no grout lines), that it is easy to clean, and that it is made from plant-based materials and is sustainable.

So far, we are very satisfied in all these aspects. It really feels great to walk and sit on it. But you have to be careful with (wool) socks, as almost everyone in the family has slipped at least once...

We visited the showroom in Munich and got to "feel" the floor there. Because of the peak corona period, we couldn’t visit any actual users in person, only talk on the phone.

Integrating the floor into our build cost us quite a few nerves. First, because no one involved had experience with it yet: the general contractor, screed installer, plumber (because of the shower channel), and tiler (for the waterproofing to the wall tiles) – it took several phone calls, personal visits from the Senso team, and repeated follow-ups. But everything was resolved.

Secondly, because Senso has a very tight schedule. They need the construction site exclusively for one week, which is scheduled right at the beginning so no dust gets on the floor. The tiler, staircase builder, and plumber all need to have finished their work by then. We thought we had a good buffer, but there were delays nonetheless and it became tight to meet our appointment. After that, no guaranteed appointments were available within the calendar year. But it still worked out.

That’s it for now. If you want to know more – feel free to ask.

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences and thoughts! I’m very interested to know: how sensitive are your two Senso floors, and how does this sensitivity show? Can the floor’s vulnerability be compared to tiles or rather to hardwood flooring? How does it react to furniture marks or, for example, in the dining area where chairs are frequently moved back and forth?

Do you see any early signs of wear, and if so, where/how did these appear and how pronounced are they?

Sorry for all the questions, but I’m really glad to have found someone with experience using the Senso floor 🙂

Of course, I’d be happy to get a reply. Good luck!

A comparison is difficult, especially after such a short time. There are no visible impressions from furniture, even heavy cabinets, on either Bcrete or Fusion. We equipped all the furniture with felt pads—so far, nothing has happened, but we don't want to take any risks there. We do have a few scratch marks in the entrance area, probably caused by small stones on outdoor shoes, and a white mark from moving in our couch 🙄

Otherwise, the floor appears quite durable. I would maybe compare it to hardwood flooring.

Where you need to be more careful is with colors. Our children have already left a few spots in their rooms where they drew beyond the paper with markers or ballpoint pens on the floor, and so far I haven’t been able to remove the stains.

Hello everyone,
we are considering a Senso floor of the Fusion type.
We really like the look of the floor. Honestly, we have some concerns regarding its durability (scratches and stains).
May I ask how your experience has been after several years of everyday use?
Thanks and regards

The main thing to watch out for is stains. Our kids have already left some marks in their bedrooms where they drew beyond the paper with markers or ballpoint pens on the floor, and so far I haven’t been able to remove the stains.

We are still considering and are concerned about the wear resistance...

We have now had our Becrete Fusion off white floor for 2 years and have seen no signs of wear. There is only one damage, caused by a large kitchen knife unfortunately falling with the tip down, but the same would have happened with tiles or hardwood flooring. However, it is barely noticeable; recently I wanted to show it to my husband and had to look for a long time before I even found it… we are absolutely happy and have not regretted it for a single day. On the contrary, I would choose it again anytime. The floor is much more comfortable for walking barefoot than tiles, both in terms of temperature and texture.
