Hello everyone,
we are considering using the cast flooring from Senso. We really like the look and feel of the floor. However, we are interested in everyday experiences, especially regarding its sensitivity.

Additionally, we want to have the bathrooms, including the walls, done by Senso. If anyone has this: Is it really as low-maintenance as promised? Have there been any issues with waterproofing?

Thank you very much!

Hello soneva2012,
I am new to the forum and very interested to know if you decided to go with a Senso floor heating system and how your experience with it has been. I would appreciate any feedback. Kind regards!

Hello Olivia, we chose an exposed screed floor, so unfortunately, I can’t help!

Thank you very much for your feedback. What made you decide against using Senso and choose exposed screed instead? Are you satisfied with it? Good luck

Hello, we have been living with a Senso floor since last December. On the ground floor, we chose Bcrete (to make the floor a bit "harder" there), and upstairs, where the children's rooms are, we went with Fusion as a "softer" option.

I can’t really say anything about its durability yet…

What was important to us when choosing the floor was that it is comfortable for sitting, lying down, and walking barefoot, that the entire floor area would be installed without joints (including in the showers), that it would be easy to clean, and that the material is plant-based and sustainable.

So far, we are very happy in all these areas. It feels really great. Just be careful with (wool) socks, as they have almost made everyone in the family slip at some point…

We visited the showroom in Munich and got to "feel" the floor there. Due to the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, we couldn’t visit actual users but only spoke to them by phone.

Integrating the floor into our build cost us some nerves. Firstly, because no one here was familiar with it yet: the general contractor, screed installer, plumber (due to the shower drain), and tile installer (sealing to the wall tiles) all had no experience with it – so it required several phone calls, personal visits from the Senso team, and repeated follow-ups. But everything could be resolved.
Secondly, because Senso has a very tight schedule. They need the construction site exclusively for one week, which is set right at the start, to prevent any dust from getting on the floor. The tile installers, stair builders, and sanitary installers all have to be finished by then. We thought we had enough time buffer, but there were delays, and it became tight to meet our date. After that, no guarantees could be made within the calendar year. But that was managed as well.

That’s it for now. If you want to know more, just ask.

What I’m curious about is the cost. Are they significantly higher compared to, for example, higher-quality tile flooring (50 €/sqm (47 USD/sq ft))?

The costs are somewhat higher. In 2021, the price per square meter for Fusion was 119€ (about 128 USD), and for BCrete 134€ (about 144 USD) – both including installation.

That’s still reasonable. How easy is it to replace the flooring if you want to change it later?
