AnnaMueHello everyone,
My husband and I have signed the reservation for a plot of land and are currently considering which prefab house manufacturer we want to build with.
We are familiar with the test reports from Capital and Focus Money, but find the market quite opaque. It is difficult to determine which companies are, for example, premium providers and which ones could be, to put it bluntly, “budget providers.” Which manufacturers offer a good price-performance ratio?
So far, Weberhaus, Hanse Haus, Fingerhuthaus, Bien-Zenker, and Dan-Haus have caught our attention.
How did you choose your provider back then?
Quality, good service, and contract terms are very important to us, but also a good price-performance ratio. What are your experiences with Hanse Haus, Fingerhuthaus, Bien-Zenker, and Dan-Haus?
I look forward to your insights!
Best regards
Anna

Visit a model home park and gather information about the wall construction, features, etc. Get in touch with the sales representatives.
Consider what you want, for example energy-saving regulations or KfW 40 Plus standard, a Swedish-style house, modern timber framing, and other features. The more the provider includes in the standard package (scope of work description) that suits your needs, the more cost-effective it will be.
If you prefer not to deal only with a sales agent and/or want local craftsmen, then contact small regional companies.

I wouldn’t look beyond your region but rather choose a home builder who operates locally. The ones featured in magazines are the market leaders, only a few in the whole industry, and they don’t necessarily have to be better than the smaller companies, which journalists often don’t even know exist.
I simply took a look at Focus Money and Capital. FM provided homebuilders with an evaluation sheet, while Capital sent their consultants out as homebuilders themselves.
Be that as it may: I can share from two well-regarded companies in my neighborhood that had serious issues with the execution.
The trauma of mold spores spreading throughout the entire house can happen to anyone, even with high-end projects.
Premium means expensive, budget means affordable.
Both can deliver quality, but they don’t have to.
Yes, and safety comes at a cost.
Who wouldn’t agree with that?

@haydee has already suggested a lot.
