Hello everyone, I recently bought an IKEA Metod kitchen cabinet and want to install doors with integrated handles. My specific challenge is to attach the doors so that they are both stable and do not cause any unpleasant noise when opening and closing. Although there are many tips online for general installation, there is very little information on mounting handle-door fronts quietly. I am especially interested in possible adjustment tricks, potential damping materials, or recommendations for screws or fasteners that increase stability without causing rattling. Does anyone have practical experience or proven solutions on how to properly and noiselessly install IKEA Metod cabinet doors with integrated handles? Thanks in advance for your tips!

You can find many tips online about general installation, but very few about noiseless mounting of doors with recessed handles.

That doesn’t surprise me. IKEA targets the mass market and usually addresses comfort features like this only later through third-party products or custom solutions. I also find it somewhat telling that the manufacturer doesn’t include simple things like dampers for recessed handles as standard. You have to take care of that yourself; otherwise, there will be rattling. This is to be expected from the start with cost-effective production.

I can also share a practical tip: I found that small felt adhesive pads placed at the corners of the handle recess work like a charm! They not only make closing the door quieter but also give it a much more premium feel. Just press the pads gently into the corners; they are very discreet.

Also, here’s a tip: When adjusting cabinet doors, take your time and do small test closings. This way, you can quickly identify where it sticks or rattles. It helps avoid frustration and ensures you enjoy the result for a long time.
