Hello, I am considering whether to plaster the area behind the washbasin seamless or to use tiles. Does anyone have experience with a suitable plaster or can help me decide? I tend to lean towards plaster because it looks very nice. My only concern is that soap splashes or toothpaste might leave stains. Thanks for your opinion.

Nothing at all. Standard plastering is sufficient.

Of course, this depends on personal preferences and habits. You could also paint the plaster with a color that is abrasion-resistant and can withstand frequent wiping with a damp cloth.

It also depends on whether your basin is mounted on the wall or placed on a wooden board with some space, for example. In general, I prefer fewer tiles and more plaster. So, just choose a good, suitable paint that truly holds up well to cleaning.

Dold produces seamless systems, but it is not plaster. We have installed it in the showers and around the sinks.
In the shower, you simply wipe it down. Done. You can’t scrub it much, but the advantage is that there are no joints where dirt or grime can build up. We are happy with our decision.
