ᐅ Seamless bathroom. Applying a skim coat over tiles and waterproofing?

GrotixI have decided to create a seamless bathroom. I have already watched several videos on the topic but haven’t found any clear information on how to properly waterproof it.
The house is about 50 years old. I assume there is no waterproofing behind the tiles. When I moved in, I had the problem that the silicone joints around the bathtub were already damaged, which caused damp spots on the underside in the attic… after renewing the silicone joints, everything was fine again. I haven’t showered in the bathroom for months because my proper shower was completed, and now I want to renovate the bathroom.
Showering in the bathtub is not really intended anymore, maybe once or twice a year if someone visits.
My plan: prime the tiles and then completely level the surface with a special plaster suitable for wet rooms (a cement-based lime plaster, or something like that—I think this is what I bought from Knauf), embedding a reinforcing fabric.
Later, I want to apply a decorative paint from Alpina.
How do I properly waterproof the area around the bathtub?
Which sealant should I apply to the finished coated wall to make it water-resistant?
Is a bathtub waterproofing membrane even necessary if I make the wall waterproof with the coating?
Silicone joints will need to be replaced anyway, that’s clear.
I really couldn’t find any information on this topic. The painters on YouTube always use products only available to professionals or don’t even mention what they use.
Thanks, I hope someone can help me.
Best regards

I would not skip using a joint tape around the edge of the bathtub. Silicone is a maintenance joint!
As for the rest: These are demanding tasks that require a lot of practice to achieve a good to perfect result. But the expectations are certainly completely different. I would be glad to see the results after completion (preferably before <> after pictures).
