Hello everyone,

I’m about to start the exterior landscaping soon, and I noticed that the floor-level windows on the outside are not sealed properly, as shown in the picture.

What is the best way to seal them?

Thanks in advance.

Why you? Are you building with a general contractor / builder? Or with an architect? Usually, one of the trades should be responsible for this. In our case, it was the shell builder who also handled the masonry waterproofing.

When in doubt, follow what is described in the execution details – although that is somewhat provocative, of course.

In our case, there is a waterproofing layer in this area, which was installed by the window installer.

Normally, that is the window installer’s responsibility. What is used to seal the bottom of the window—an airtight tape or some kind of liquid sealant?

Normally, the roofer takes care of that 😉

And now you can’t properly seal it anymore without some effort, because the plaster on both sides needs to be removed in order to connect the seal to the masonry and its waterproofing.
