Hello everyone,

I would like to design the entrance area of our house (timber frame construction). For this, I plan to pave it flush with the ground or do something similar. I am wondering how best to waterproof this area beforehand and how to connect the facade to the pathway.

I have searched my photo archive but unfortunately have no pictures taken just before the insulation boards were installed at the base of the wall. I also couldn’t find anything in the construction and performance description from Schwabenhaus. There is only one note:

Note: The upper edge of the on-site terrace covering

must be at least 15 cm (6 inches) below the upper edge of the unfinished floor

on the ground floor. If this is not the case, drainage grates must be installed on site

(at least 5 cm (2 inches) below the unfinished floor of the ground floor)!

From this, I conclude that the base has not yet been properly waterproofed. The facade currently ends above the ground level.

Please don’t be too hard on me for my lack of knowledge 😀

Thanks and best regards,
Albert
