The drain of my toilet, more precisely the drain opening in the wall, is positioned slightly too high for the toilet’s connecting piece. As a result, the rubber seal cannot create a completely tight connection. Over time, it gradually slips out of place and water leaks. This is, of course, very annoying. How can I finally make the connection watertight?

There are eccentric connectors; for a wall-mounted toilet, this does not help, but for a floor-standing one, it could be a solution. However, the eccentric connector must be able to compensate for the height difference you mentioned in its design. Perhaps you can find a suitable piece at the hardware store.

My neighbor had the same problem, and you can find these at hardware stores. These connector pieces are flexible, and now he managed to seal everything properly. The other option was just annoying.

I need to ask about this. Is that a flexible hose?

I am only familiar with rigid pipes for drainage.

Can anyone help here?

Thank you.

Hi Jonas,

Yes, that is a flexible drain. I saw it at the hardware store. For us, the height didn’t fit perfectly either. With this flexible drain, you can easily compensate for that. The important thing is that it is watertight.

You will probably find it at your local hardware store.

Something like that would really annoy me. Water constantly leaks there. This is clearly a defect, and the installing company is basically responsible.
