ᐅ Screed installation in the attic – ceiling between attic and living space

Hello,

I am currently building a KFW 55 house, with an insulated roof and an attic (concrete ceiling) below it, and living space beneath that. I would like to plan for a screed floor here.

My question is whether the screed between the attic and the living space is sufficient as insulation, or if I should add insulation material. How much heat would be lost here?

Regards

Is this a wooden beam ceiling to the attic? Probably yes. Do you plan to do this yourself, or have you asked your general contractor if the ceiling can support the screed structurally?

I have a concrete ceiling, I think about 20cm (8 inches) thick.
It’s a mixed-use floor, with an office upstairs and the rest as attic space.
So I believe the ceiling is sufficiently load-bearing.
But I will definitely check on that again.

I wouldn’t really worry about a concrete ceiling. The screed weighs only about 100 kg (220 lbs) per square meter. A party with many people can easily generate greater loads, which are also not evenly distributed.

I checked, it is a precast concrete slab with in-situ concrete topping, thickness 20 cm (8 inches), class C20/C25

One more question about this:
If I don’t install insulation, how should I handle the ventilation ducts and cables?
Just embed them in the concrete, right?
