Kubasilver9 Jul 2023 19:48Hello, I have installed a new tilt-and-turn window Schüco CT-70 Profiserie Classic. I have installed about 10 windows before and never had any problems. I am a precision mechanic. Now, with the window tilted, the handle cannot be positioned fully vertical, although all functions work perfectly and the handle positions for turn and closed are correct. Even after removing the spacers, the handle cannot be rotated to the vertical position. So, it can’t be due to the mushroom cams. But what is wrong here? Can this issue be fixed or is the gear mechanism defective?

Something isn’t right. Either there is damage to the hardware or something is not aligned properly. Grab the spirit level again and check the installation position. The frame might be warped.

k-man202110 Jul 2023 15:07We have the same issue with a Schüco window. The window installer says the hardware linkage is too long… but I find that hard to believe since it was fine during the final inspection. Therefore, I am also interested to see if this will be resolved here.
My crystal ball suggests there could be several possible causes...
First, I would check whether all locking cams/espagnolette cams/... are perfectly horizontal at the top and bottom, as well as perfectly vertical on the handle side and hinge side, exactly aligned in the marked center position when the window is open.
This is quite easy to do with the window sash open and the handle in the horizontal position—at least for skilled hobbyist window installers, it shouldn’t be a problem.
If there are any deviations, please take photos of these spots (not too close up so that the surroundings are visible), then we can assess further.

Kubasilver18 Jul 2023 18:55Proper troubleshooting! Open the window, remove the handle, take out the gearbox, set it into the correct position, and reinstall it. Put the handle back on and check all functions. This error is very rare and can only occur due to factory installation.
