Hello,

Does anyone have experience with Salamander windows or have them installed in their home?

We received a pretty good offer for the BlueEvolution 82 and now we are wondering
if we should go with them....

Thanks in advance

Best regards
Christian

You might even find one second-hand (latest version from 2014).

What does "latest" mean then – 2014 was still before the current energy saving regulations – does the 2014 guide already refer to the draft of the 2016 energy saving regulations?

Or you can bring in an expert.

That was a good one. If you stay around here a bit longer, you will realize that "expert" is the shortest joke on this forum – there are people who confidently quote standards that unfortunately only apply to neighboring regions (or are no longer valid). The fact that expert knowledge can become outdated is a completely unknown phenomenon to some. An expert is only as valuable as their ongoing training (and their professional liability insurance). Apart from the sadly true core of the saying that the harshest critics of the moose once were moose themselves.

Since when do the energy saving regulations specify how windows should be installed?
I don’t see any direct connection, at most regarding airtightness. But there haven’t been any major changes there either.

It is still worth questioning why one is so much cheaper.

We had the same experience back then. Quotes ranged from 17,000 to 34,000 for the same windows. Some companies just stretch things out—a removal and disposal cost might be only 1,500 with Company A but 3,500 with Company B. Or extras like concealed hinges could be a 500 surcharge with one, but 4,000 with another.

To my knowledge, there have been no changes to window installation due to the energy saving regulation. "Current" means that no new (building physics) findings have emerged in the meantime that would require adjustments.

Of course, there are fewer good ones and more better ones. You just have to hire the right ones; this applies throughout the entire homebuilding process! It also takes quite a bit of luck.

How did you decide back then — purely based on gut feeling or price?

I’m saying:
