ZaphodBeeblebrox25 Mar 2015 17:16Hello everyone,
we want to extend our kitchen with a roughly 2m (6.5 ft) long countertop with base cabinets, which should have a rounded corner at one end, something like this:
... but with only one rounded corner.
I noticed that you can have the countertop cut to size at IKEA, but I can’t find any solutions for how to use or fill the space under the rounded corner. A rectangular cabinet would stick out. For example, I would like to have an open shelf with rounded shelves as well.
Does anyone maybe have a good tip?
Many thanks and best regards,
Z. B.

There is no ready-made solution for METOD. This means you need to create it yourself or have a carpenter make it for you.
Attaching boards to the cabinet and wall using brackets is possible, but the brackets must be large enough to support the load. The brackets would be visible, which I personally wouldn’t like.

If something heavy is going to be placed on them, small brackets will not hold.

ZaphodBeeblebrox18 Apr 2015 13:10Thank you for the responses. It will probably be a straight finish after all. Everything else is too expensive or complicated for me. It’s a pity that there isn’t something like this for Metod.
