I own a townhouse and recently got a new neighbor who complained about the gutter between our two houses, even though neither of our homes has experienced any moisture damage. To maintain good neighborly relations, I agreed to have the gutter replaced by a roofer.
The roofer replaced the gutter and installed a flashing sheet that replaces the bottom row of roof tiles, covering approximately the first 45cm (18 inches) of my roof along its entire length. Is this a common or sensible approach?
Also, is it possible to place the roof tiles back onto the flashing sheet, or would doing so risk damaging the flashing sheet either in the short or long term?
I hope you can help clarify this.
