Hello everyone,

we have finally completed our shed roof and decided on a clad roof overhang! The material is aluminum sheet, and we have an unfinished brick veneer facade...

Yesterday, I noticed that all the rafters are clad but still about 1 cm (0.4 inches) visible... The roofer says this won’t be visible once the plaster is applied?!?
What do you think?
Why wasn’t the box installed directly up to the underside of the rafters?

Thanks and best regards

Yes, it is called grouting, sorry!
Supposedly, you can't see anything once the person doing the grout finishes the brickwork... but why not just cover it right away?! In my next life, I’ll become a tradesperson!

The craftsman’s approach is puzzling to me. It looks more like a mistake than a necessary construction. Even if it won’t be visible later... how is the head timber protected then?

Could this be the ventilation behind the cladding? But without insect protection?
