Hello everyone,

I’m wondering which option is better: insulation between rafters or collar beam insulation using friction-fit mineral wool.

We are building a KfW 70 solid construction house.
Currently, the ground floor is being built with masonry.

Looking forward to your opinions.

Yes, then what's the question?

I thought there might be advantages or disadvantages to different types of construction.

Of course, the keyword is installing a vapor retarder. It is easier to place it below the collar beam layer than all the way up to the ridge (connection detail for the intermediate purlin).
