Hello everyone,

I took a look at the attic today and noticed that many of the beams on the upper side are resting at an angle, and some "side panels" are no longer securely nailed. Does anyone have advice on whether I should do something about this? Should it be reported? Should I screw the beams myself? Is this normal? Built in 2014. Pictures:

Thanks & best regards,

Yes, I would report that.
No, that is not how it should be.
Screwing it together is a practical solution and will probably be the way to go. If it is a prefab house or a general contractor, the management should be informed about this work in order to improve quality. They will surely arrange for corrections.

You always have to follow up in writing with Ikea 😉

Seriously now: Year of construction 2014... when was the handover?
Send a defect notice in writing with a deadline to the general contractor (or whoever was responsible for the management) as soon as possible.

Thanks for the responses. I have now contacted the company; let’s see what comes of it.
