Hello everyone,
Just to start, I’m a complete beginner who has just bought my first house and is now renovating it. At a window on the upper floor, the roller shutter strap was hanging by a thin thread, and through my carelessness, I accidentally tore it completely. Now it’s wound up, the shutter slats are down, and the room is completely dark.
My question: When I look through the hole (picture 1), I can see the roller shutter strap wound on a spool, but I have no way to reach it through this hole.
In picture 2, you can see the part I had to unscrew beforehand to get a look inside.
What is the easiest or fastest way to fix this? Do I need to call a professional? Or can I do it myself? And if so, how do I get access?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

you can do this yourself, as long as you’re not completely uncoordinated.
Just type "replacing seatbelt retractor" into your favorite search engine. You’ll find many guides and videos.
Good luck!
