Hello everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the right place to discuss this topic, but I’ll just start anyway.
We are planning a new build and are now trying to decide whether to go for built-in or surface-mounted roller shutters. We’ve read so many different opinions on this. Some say that surface-mounted shutters contribute more to the insulation of the house than built-in ones. Others say that’s not true and that surface-mounted shutters are mostly used for renovations.
Has anyone had experience with this and can offer some advice?
Thanks,
veti99

Hello,
this topic is more than a year old, but I have reached exactly this point.
We are currently planning a shell construction with the building planner.
I want a roller shutter system that is not visible from the outside.
For this purpose, the front-mounted version with the round inspection cover is not an option for me.
Now there is also the other front-mounted version with the render carrier board.
I actually do not want the "old" roller shutters with the insulation problem,
and costs during the shell construction phase also matter, since front-mounted roller shutters are cheaper there.
My question is, has anyone used the front-mounted roller shutters with render carrier board?
Is this recommended for new builds? (also in terms of cost?)
