Hello everyone,
We are currently wondering:
Should we install blinds or roller shutters on the floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor (patio exit, etc.)? In any case, they should be electric.
I honestly don’t see much added value in blinds, especially since I would even have to pay extra for them, which still doesn’t make sense to me.
Recently, we drove through two new housing developments, and really about 80% of the houses have blinds?? What do you think about this?
I just can’t believe it, but of course, this also raises the question: Are we thinking about this the wrong way? Are blinds maybe actually better?
Added value: You can control the appearance and the amount of light coming in. But otherwise, I don’t see any benefit, and I’m supposed to pay extra for that?
In my opinion, the disadvantages clearly outweigh the advantages...

The roller blind doesn’t offer that, so it’s not an option for me.
Here is the view from my office, also on the south side where the sun shines in strongly.
Now imagine that with an opaque roller blind.

PS: Your view is obviously a dream

pagoni20202 Jul 2020 10:15Choose venetian blinds with track guides. I had three really large ones and honestly don’t understand the problems people sometimes mention. These were top quality and, above all, very convenient for adjusting individual light entry, plus completely trouble-free. This is something that will definitely be included in the new house; I can do without some other things. Even if they cost more, in my opinion it makes a lot of sense to spend extra here.
Of course, as always, this is a matter of personal preference, but the ability to adjust the incoming light or the view almost millimeter by millimeter until it suits me is something I find very pleasant and practical.

@Alessandro
Your view is impressive as well. Hopefully, a new housing development isn’t planned nearby anytime soon.
Whether you like it or not is a matter of personal taste.
It would be really great if you could control everything directly through the windows without needing additional shading.
