Hello,

In our semi-detached house from the developer, all windows come with electric roller shutters as standard, except for the bathroom on the first floor and the guest toilet on the ground floor.

My question is, should I ask about the additional cost (we estimate around 400-500€) for electric roller shutters in the guest toilet on the ground floor due to increased burglary protection?

Frosted glass is always installed in the guest toilet and bathroom.

Simple roller shutters can be pried open or cut through. This can be done relatively quietly and without much effort. In that case, you need burglary-resistant roller shutters.

I have one window in the house without a shutter, and that really bothers me. Unfortunately, it can't be changed. I would definitely install shutters on all windows.

Also, the east side can be quite sunny in the evening hours. I want to be able to close it then.

When the budget is tight, installing a roller shutter for the guest bathroom is an easy item to cut. Privacy can be maintained not only with frosted glass but also simply with a curtain. If the budget allows, it doesn’t really matter. If having a roller shutter there were an urgent necessity, the question likely wouldn’t have come up.

For purely aesthetic reasons, I would also avoid having individual windows without roller shutters.

I personally hate frosted glass; I kind of have an allergy to it :-)....

In my place, I also have an external venetian blind in the guest bathroom. For your bathroom, I would also go with a roller shutter and possibly add a pleated blind.

Well, if the site is completely unobstructed, that should be fine. In the east, it is definitely not sunny in the evening.
