Hello everyone,
we are slowly entering the final phase and hopefully will start construction within the next four weeks.
We have a great general contractor, but we feel that their expertise regarding roller shutters is lacking.
For each electric roller shutter (no central control, simple open/close switch) they have estimated 1000€.
Now we would like to get an independent quote. Are there any references or recommendations here in the forum, preferably from the Hamburg/Lübeck area?
What should we realistically expect per electric roller shutter:
Patio door element 200 x 220 cm (79 x 87 inches)
Window 150 x 130 cm (59 x 51 inches)
Window 60 x 110 cm (24 x 43 inches)
And what would be the approximate additional cost if we opt for a timer switch instead of a regular switch?
Thank you very much for your help!!
Best regards,
Kai123

We did the wiring ourselves, including the central floor control, sun position sensor, and more...

Hello everyone, we were finally able to agree on a reasonable plan with our window installer. We didn’t order all the windows—left out the smaller ones in the guest WC, utility room, and upstairs bathroom. In total, there are now 5 on the ground floor (living room + kitchen) and 3 on the upper floor (bedrooms).
The switches on the ground floor can be easily grouped together, and in the bedrooms they are always next to the door. Now I’m wondering if the additional cost of about 1000€ for a central control system is worth it.
Do you use all the features of a central control system? With 15-20 windows it’s clearly a must-have, but what about for 8 windows?
Or has anyone else had the same thought as me and later regretted not having a central control system?

Sebastian792 Apr 2016 09:17I have only three windows downstairs with external venetian blinds that can be controlled centrally.
One control is for lowering the blinds in the evening, and we also have a light sensor that operates them automatically.
Upstairs, there is another control that manages 10 roller shutters — mainly for the light sensor.
It cost us about 100 euros per main control unit plus some wiring, since we installed it ourselves.
It’s not really necessary, but retrofitting would have been expensive again...
