ᐅ Stone bed or rock bed?

Hello,
most single-family houses have a trench with decorative stones in front of the house foundation. What is the correct term for that? Stone bed or stone border?
Searching online is confusing because both terms are used.

The perimeter around the house serves as splash protection for the building foundation.

The correct term is "gravel gutter." However, there are certainly a thousand other names that are not wrong either ;-)
