Hello to all the experts here.
First of all, I’m not looking for a free calculation, in case my question gives that impression!!!
It’s about a double garage measuring 6x6 meters (20x20 feet) and a workshop 3x6 meters (10x20 feet) with a flat roof, built as a self-build project.
It was planned together with the architect and included in the engineer’s calculations.
The dimensions are also shown in the fabrication plans, but the most important thing is missing for me: the structural engineering.
The structural engineer is asking for an incredible amount of money, and since we had bad experiences with the engineer during the construction phase, I’m writing here instead.
Now to my questions:
I know that the ring beam must be continuous all around, but does the partition wall also need to be integrated?
What would a structural engineering calculation for the ring beam and reinforced concrete beam with a clear span of about 5.20 meters (17 feet) roughly cost?
Best regards,
Seaman
