this is our first time using external venetian blinds (often called “raffstores”), so please forgive me if this is a silly question.
On the ground floor, we have some quite large blinds up to 2.4m (8 feet) wide, which we currently also need to use as privacy screens since the outdoor areas are not finished yet. During the day, we like to tilt the slats upwards to let sunlight in while still maintaining some privacy from outside views. In the evening, I set the slats to the usual closed position. What annoys me, however, is that when the blinds are fully lowered, they don’t automatically reverse their slat direction. To do this, I first have to raise the blinds completely and then lower them again. This does not happen with the smaller windows.
Is this a matter of adjustment or just normal due to the weight?
Our window installer says it’s the latter.

That is definitely not normal. I can tilt our venetian blinds (Raffstoren) up or down at any position. It shouldn't matter how they are controlled. However, with standard venetian blind switches, the time window during which the blinds can be tilted is usually very short. Mine are operated by a smart home system. This allows me to perform a "double tap" on the switch to tilt the blinds by a specific angle or adjust them precisely by degrees using an app. It’s somewhat different with conventional switches, but it should still be possible. (I also know venetian blinds from other houses where it works as well.)
