Hello everyone!
We are currently building a house with separate living and practice units.
For now and the next few years, we do not need separate water meters for the two units. Maybe later, if we retire one day and decide to rent out the second unit, possibly even sooner.
Because life is unpredictable and, like everyone in this phase, our expenses are increasing, we don’t want to spend money now on something that might only be needed 20 years from now.
We received a quote from the plumbing company just for the installation of the provision for water/heat meters: €2220, which we would prefer to spend elsewhere.
Does anyone know if this provision is actually required now, or if installing the meters later without this provision would be particularly expensive or complicated?
Thanks in advance!

No, you don’t need that. You can have cold and hot water meters as well as heat meters installed later on quite easily. That sums it up perfectly! And just as a side note, for around 2,000 you can get numerous meter pre-installations included!

We are currently building a house with separate residential and practice units. What is the current use of the practice unit? Is it being used personally as a practice? Wouldn’t it also make sense to separate the costs in that case?

Thank you all, this makes our decision much easier
@kbt09 Yes, we are using the practice ourselves, and we deduct the costs as a flat rate. At the moment, we are satisfied with this solution provided the tax authority accepts it. Later, you can claim the installation costs.
