Hello,
unfortunately, we did not order this directly, so the electrical outlets in the children's rooms are standard sockets without additional protection. Before I apply these plastic covers, I wanted to check if it is possible to replace the socket insert instead?
I’m uncertain because I just read that it is not allowed to upgrade a standard socket to one with enhanced touch protection. Apparently, the "socket dimensions" must not be altered...?

Thanks to the 30mA RCD, nothing should happen anymore, right?Well, I tested it, and nothing happened :p the RCD tripped faster, but who knows what children might test.W

Ok. We have the M Smart series from Merten. A socket outlet with touch protection (without the frame) costs about 4.xx EUR. But it still needs to be properly wired (which also takes an "afternoon"). Is there anything special to consider during wiring or anything related to the electrical panel?
I think I misunderstood and thought you are not allowed to "modify" the socket outlet – this is based on sealing it with a "plate," so that the plug sits less deep, which can then cause damage. And I thought you are not allowed to "change" the electrical installation itself.
Well, my general contractor and his electrical team are getting more and more negative points... Who would have thought to recommend safe sockets for the nursery to the builder...
