Hello,
we had a chimney built into our house in case we wanted a fireplace later. By now, I have to say that I actually don’t want a fireplace anymore. My husband is also undecided about it. Now I’ve been thinking about what else it could be used for.
My kitchen is directly next to it. Could I connect the kitchen exhaust hood to it? Or would there be whistling noises in the kitchen? I also thought about setting up a small indoor greenhouse with ventilation inside the house. That way, we’d have fresh tomatoes in winter.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

We had the combination of an extractor hood and an unused chimney for the last 18 years in our old house. It worked very well. The kitchen was on the ground floor. Above it were the first floor and the attic, so the exhaust path was quite long.

Personally, I would install a small stove/fireplace there. Why not? Because of the CO2 emissions.

Well, normally you bake cakes...
An oven... would that still be an option? Smoked fish wrapped in hash cookie dough, served with tomatoes. Viva la revolution of gourmet cuisine!
But @Nordlys will have to be in golden pants in the kitchen for it to be authentic.
