Hello everyone, I recently ordered a Billy bookcase from IKEA and discovered during assembly that some parts were missing. My question to those who have previously reported missing parts for the BILLY bookcase through IKEA customer service: What was your experience with ordering replacement parts? How fast and straightforward was the process? Are there any specific tips, such as how to correctly identify the missing parts, to help speed things up? I want to proceed as efficiently as possible to avoid wasting unnecessary time. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

The best way is to photograph the parts list or use the assembly manual with exploded diagrams for clear identification

That makes sense, thanks for the tip! Based on your experience, is there a better way to get in touch? Sometimes I wait a long time on the helpline, and other times I tend to use online forms. How do you find the response times compare?

Most of my contacts were actually made through the online form, which I find more organized. There you receive a confirmation of receipt, which is not possible through the hotline. However, if it needs to be quick, a phone call can have advantages to clarify questions directly.

My tip: Fill out the form first, and if you don’t get a quick response within 2 days, then call. That way, you cover both options without losing time. Also, always note the name of the staff member in case you need to follow up.
